This gown is of the transitional period of 1795 to about 1810, and would have still been popular for a work dress for some time into the Regency and Federalist periods. The gown is designed to be worn over shift, stays, and petticoats. The bodice features a drawstring back closed with tapes. This allows for adjusting to a fit that was comfortable for the lady.Pair with the transitional stays by Past Patterns and your look will be authentic indeed.
