A very sweet day dress from 1860. Front opening bodice with gathered front. This dress is designed to be worn over a period corset.The v-neck bodice has gathers in the front and back, with hoops and petticoats. Notes in the instruction book include three documented variations. The dress featured a very light cotton muslin type fabric, and could be reproduced with voiles or batistes for summer, heavier cloth for winter.Comes with booklet, historical notes, and heavy paper printed.
